On June 29, 2023, former Nassau County Executive, Laura Curran (left) swore in Thomaston Mayor Weinberg (right), as Treasurer and Sea Cliff Mayor Elena Villafane (center) as Second Vice President of the Nassau County Village Officials Association (NCVOA). Founded in 1925, the NCVOA is a not-for-profit organization comprising and representing all of Nassau County's 64 villages.
The NCVOA was created for the purpose of encouraging and stimulating cooperation among its member villages for their
mutual benefit and welfare.

our Town and County officials who supported all of our efforts and negotiated with the MTA.

Mayor Weinberg, along with numerous Mayors from Villages in Nassau County, gathered for a press conference
on Tuesday, September 20th with County Executive Blakeman. Speaking in a uniform voice, the Mayors called on
New York State Officials to reconsider the 2019 Bail Reform to address the increase in crime and called for
better protection for our residents.

State Department of Agriculture and Markets Sounds Alarm Over Spotted Lanternfly (SLF)
If you live outside New York City, you can help the Department by reporting SLF
immediately after it is found. Follow these steps:
*Take a photo
*Collect a sample and place it in a freezer or in a jar with rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer
Contact the SLF responders (link to online form)
After you have reported SLF in your area and collected a sample, you should kill any
additional SLF you see by stepping on it or crushing it.
On Tuesday, July 19th a Press Conference was held at the Great Neck Train Station.
Mayor Weinberg, along with all of the Mayors on the Great Neck Peninsula, and local
officials from the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, and New York State called on
the MTA/LIRR to reinstate express service on the Port Washington branch of the Long Island Railroad.

While vehicle
thefts are not common in Thomaston, the Nassau County Police
Departments want to remind everyone that 98% of stolen vehicles
occur due to the operator leaving the FOB/key in the car.
To prevent items from being stolen
from cars and vehicles thefts:
Always remove your FOB/keys
from your vehicle when you are not operating it
Never leave a spare
FOB/key in the vehicle
Ensure your vehicle is locked
at all times and close all windows
Never leave your vehicle
running and unattended
Park your car in the garage if
possible, especially at night
Park you vehicle in a well-lit
and highly visible area
