Presented by Nassau County Police Department
Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP Unit) March 28, 2021 Presentation Recording
On Friday
(9/10), the Remnants of Hurricane Ida (DR-4615) was federally
declared a major disaster.
This declaration releases Public Assistance, Individual
Assistance and the
Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Disaster Loans.
To expedite the process for those applying
for assistance, FEMA opened an office in Michael J. Tully Park
in New Hyde Park to help local applicants for assistance.
Officials recommend that anyone applying
for assistance from FEMA first call the FEMA Call Center

assistance will be asked to provide
a general list of damages and losses, insurance information, a
current cell phone number and address
and a Social Security number. Anyone who was displaced as a
result of the storm may be
eligible for funds for housing assistance, home repairs,
replacement of personal property,
legal services, unemployment assistance and crisis counseling.
After speaking with the FEMA Call Center,
applicants can then visit the FEMA office in Michael J. Tully
Park,
New Hyde Park, at 1801 Evergreen Ave.Applicants visiting the FEMA New Hyde Park office
should bring with them a form of ID, the FEMA Call Center case
number, and any
additional documents requested by the FEMA Call Center
representative.

p.m. daily.
